Can we donate $10 in your name to fund a new K9 police dog unit for East Liverpool?
Chris Arnott Agency is partnering with the East Liverpool Police Department to help raise funds to launch the department’s newest K9 unit to combat drug-related crimes. To make this dream a reality, the department requires a fund of $30,000 to purchase items such as animal housing, special transport, a ballistic vest, and basic K9 handler course and certifications.
In recent years, East Liverpool and surrounding counties have been notably plagued by an opioid epidemic that’s also affecting many parts of rural America. Fortunately, in the past year over a hundred arrests have been made! This alone has dramatically reduced the number of incidents, but there is still work to be done. With the addition of a second trained and nationally certified dual-purpose police service dog, East Liverpool and the surrounding area will become a safer place to live and raise a family. At the end of animal training the dual-purpose K9 will be able to assist officers in the following areas: location of drugs/narcotics in vehicle and building searches, criminal apprehension and tracking (both criminals and others that are lost and in danger), handler protection, and for informational programs that help build community relations.
“As a community, it’s up to us to do everything we can to prevent tragedy and make our neighborhoods safer. A new police K9 unit is a great place to start,” says Chris Arnott, agency owner.
Currently, the East Liverpool is in need of funds to begin the K9 unit.
